Bill has been teaching mindfulness since 2001 and brings a broad knowledge of meditative disciplines from over 20 years of intensive practice of mindfulness, including extensive silent retreat experience. He teaches 8-week courses in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) in the San Francisco Bay Area, workplace mindfulness courses at Bay Area businesses, and works with individuals as a mindfulness coach. He is a Senior Trainer with the Potential Project, the leading global provider of corporate mindfulness training. He is a graduate of advanced teacher trainings in MBSR from the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Bill is currently a member of the Community Dharma Leaders Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center and is a graduate of Spirit Rock’s Dedicated Practitioner’s Program. Through the Buddhist Alliance for Social Engagement, Bill taught meditation at San Francisco’s County Jail for nine years. He is the former President of the Board of the San Francisco Insight Meditation Community under guiding teacher Eugene Cash and is the author of the mindfulness guide Moment By Moment (available on Amazon).
